| A Tribute to Old Hagee This site is sponsored by Steve and Iwalani Snell (members Antique Auto Club of America and Buick Club of America/Mid-Florida Chapter) to document the restoration of a 1925 Buick Model 40. It is being restored by Jesse Morton of Academy Classic Automobiles, Forestville, CT. The car was delivered for restoration in October 2006 for a planned 2 year restoration. It took 3 years and is nearly complete--lacking only some cosmetics that will be attended to in the future. In the meantime, we will drive it and enjoy it. The car was purchased from my Navy bud, Ed Hagee of San Diego (perhaps after too many beers, or too many renditions of Walk Away Renee by the Four Tops). It had been owned by his Dad, John D. Hagee (hereafter affectionately referred to as Old Hagee--a de facto folk hero to the wardroom of USS Hammerberg). Old Hagee was only the second owner of the car (we are the third), which up to that time had spent its entire life in Los Angeles. I first saw and expressed interest in the car in 1989; Old Hagee wasn't quite ready to part with it. When Old Hagee passed on to the big workshop in the sky in 1992, Ed offered me the car, which I purchased. It stayed in San Diego for 10 years with Terry Cowan, until Ed and Christine (Ed's lovely wife) pulled the car on a flatbed across country to Florida. In honor of Old Hagee, the car is so named. This site contains information about 1925 Buicks, 1925 Buick literature, and displays 1925 license plates. Feel free to contact us at egawai@aol.com if you have questions or need information. |

| I have had a request to make our contact information more prominent. Seems like a fair request. We enjoy hearing from car folk all over the world. It is: egawai@aol.com We welcome comments, feedback, questions, and just plain car talk. |
