Restoration
Distributor, starter/generator, and water pump will need to be refurbished
Parts requiring plating are inventoried prior to shipping to plater. With the cost of copper, can't wait to see what this bill will be!
A new front bumper has been chosen for the car. All bumpers were after market items during the 1920s. It goes to the plater too.
New intake and exhaust valves and springs, and valve guides
Install hardened valve seats and new valve guides
Six new stainless steel pistons
Each wheel is dismantled. Each wooden spoke is put on a lathe for sanding down to original wood. Several coats of marine varnish will be applied to accent the wood.
Final body work on fenders.
Freshly sanded and oiled spokes. They are made of hickory.
Finding the perfect match for the crowns on the fenders
A lost art--poured bearings
Sanding and buffing the paint on the fenders and side splash aprons.
Creating a pattern for the headliner.
Backing panels are fitted into place. Insulation and material will be stretched over the panels, which will then be attached in place.
The paint has been buffed to a high gloss.
Right: Meticulous care is taken to ensure that the body is true and square. If it isn't, nothing will fit right--particularly the doors.
Oil pan is finished in the same color as the engine block will be
Water distribution tube and valve cover being prepped for painting
The water pump was completely rebuilt.
Engine work is complete and the block is ready for paint
The clutch was a real problem as the plates were warped. Thanks to Bryan Stanley of Glendale AZ for coming up with some NOS plates.
